The Glynn Academy volleyball team added a pair of wins to their season total Thursday at Effingham County.
The Lady Terrors beat Effingham 25-19, 25-19 in a Region 2-6A clash and followed with a 25-8, 25-7 victory over Groves.
Against Effingham. Lily Hidalgo led Glynn with eight kills and contributed two aces. Savannah Serafini infiltrated several stat lines, finishing the match with seven kills, 19 digs, two assists and two aces.
Montana Jackson added five kills and three blocks while Skylar Perez led the team with 20 digs. Mary Altman added 10 assist and an ace while Brayleigh Tompkins tallied nine assists and two aces.
Against Groves, Serafini’s 11 kills propelled the Lady Terrors’ attack. Serafini also had five digs and two aces. Macyn Nasser added with six kills and four aces while. Hidalgo chipped in four kills and three aces.
Tompkins set up the attack to the tune of 15 assists. She also added two kills and an ace. Altman totaled six assists while Hayley Fauth contributed eight digs and two assists.
The Glynn Academy softball team scored in each of the four innings it took to beat McIntosh County Academy 16-4 on Wednesday.
After giving up two runs in the top of the first, the Lady Terrors plated five runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 5-2 lead. Two more runs in the second inning increased Glynn’s lead to 7-2. After McIntosh cut it to a 7-4 game in the top of the third, Glynn increased its lead with two more runs in the bottom of the third to push the advantage back to 9-4.
The Lady Terrors invoked the mercy rule in the fourth with seven runs for the final score.
Anna Lee Mancil set the tone for Glynn with two hits and three runs scored from her leadoff spot. Annie Chance contributed two hits that drove in three runs and also scored three times.
Maci Gibbs also had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run while Emma Gravley had a double that scored three runs and also scored a run.
Kenzie Alvies, Scarlee Porter and Mallory Merrill each added a hit. Alvies, Jordan Wallen and Mattie King each plated an RBI while Alvies, King and Wallen each scored one run. Alexis Peters drew two walks and scored three runs in the game.
Porter earned the win in the circle, allowing only one earned run and striking out three in four innings.
