Frederica swimmers qualify for state Meet

Frederica Academy’s varsity swim team traveled to compete in the Savannah Country Day Invitational this past weekend in the final meet of the regular season. Several swimmers set personal best times, including: Cammie Pope in the 200m freestyle; Austin Harmon, Ella Moore, Maddison Moore, Marissa Vivirito, and Holly Lewis in the 50m freestyle; Andrew Kaminer in the 100m butterfly; Vivirito and Maddison Moore in the 100m freestyle; Harmon and Truett in the 100m backstroke; and Helen Arline, Ella Moore, and Zoe Linert in the 100m breaststroke. Next for the Knights is the GISA state meet at Georgia Tech on Jan. 25, where the following will compete: Lea Maye Smith in 50m and 100m freestyle; JJ Briggs in 100m breaststroke and freestyle; Ryann Hankey in 100m backstroke; Harmon in 50m, 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke; Andrew Kaminer in 200m individual medley, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, and 100m breaststroke; Zoe Linert in 100m breaststroke; Pope in 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle; Spencer Sullivan in 100m and 200m freestyle; and Truett in 100m backstroke. Arline, Lewis, Cloe Linert, Zoe Linert, Ella Moore, Maddison Moore, Pope, and Truett will also represent Frederica in the 200m freestyle and 200m medley relays.
