I applaud the Brunswick News for its support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's recent National Climate Assessment.

As The News rightly points out, "Their report should be taken seriously as it shows a warming planet will have catastrophic effects on our way of life in the Golden Isles."

However, I find it interesting that The News continues to support our president and his political party who choose to ignore NOAA's report and who portray the overwhelming consensus of the scientific community on this issue as a "hoax."

Isn't it time we use facts to drive our opinions rather than the other way around?

Fire gutted a vacant house shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, leaving fire crews working hard through noon to extinguish the flames and make sure they did not spread to nearby trees or the neighboring business.

This past week, I received a telephonic Robo Call from someone stating he represented the Glynn County Republican Party. There surely must be a parallel universe with a similar name since that call was nothing but false accusations and lies about ESPLOST 3.
