The ACA (i.e. “Obamacare”) prevents insurers from denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. It eliminated lifetime caps on insurance benefits. It mandated free preventive care such as mammograms, and it is helping seniors pay their drug bills. It provides health care to some 400,000 Georgians, and a federal judge in Texas just ruled the law is unconstitutional.

If this opinion is not reversed by the U.S. Court of Appeals or the U.S. Supreme Court, some of our neighbors, friends, and family members will either not get care and their health will suffer, and/or they will seek care at the emergency room, thereby driving up the costs on every person that does receive coverage and pays insurance. All because politicians in 20 red states were too blind (or stubborn) to see the good the law is doing.

Life is about choices, and Republican leaders have made theirs; to defend insurance company bottom lines over the health care of the people of their states.

Keep demanding of those that promise they will serve you, who regularly pick up their paycheck from you, demand that they also fight for you, that they work in the right direction so that our friends, family members, and neighbors can make life a little better for their families. I’ll keep demanding it too.

Fire gutted a vacant house shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, leaving fire crews working hard through noon to extinguish the flames and make sure they did not spread to nearby trees or the neighboring business.

This past week, I received a telephonic Robo Call from someone stating he represented the Glynn County Republican Party. There surely must be a parallel universe with a similar name since that call was nothing but false accusations and lies about ESPLOST 3.
