A couple of days ago, a reader expressed support for a roundabout at the intersection of Kings Way and Frederica Road. Personally, I am now a believer in roundabouts after initially having had serious reservations about the original Demere Road/Frederica Road roundabout design.

Recently, Bob Torras suggested an incredibly brilliant re-design for improving the “St. Simons Gateway” mess into a smooth flowing roundabout. After now seeing the efficiency of roundabouts in action, I can certainly envision a roundabout at Kings Way and Frederica Road as being very effective.

For the same money, I strongly support a roundabout for that intersection. I would also recommend that Glynn County take a serious look at Bob Torras’ brilliant ideas for fixing the “gateway.” While I don’t always agree with GDOTs plans and initiatives, I do agree with their proclamation that roundabouts work well to improve traffic flow and traffic safety.

Fire gutted a vacant house shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, leaving fire crews working hard through noon to extinguish the flames and make sure they did not spread to nearby trees or the neighboring business.

This past week, I received a telephonic Robo Call from someone stating he represented the Glynn County Republican Party. There surely must be a parallel universe with a similar name since that call was nothing but false accusations and lies about ESPLOST 3.
