I know I’m not a doctor, but I’m a pretty smart kid, and any doctor that doesn’t smoke would tell you exactly what I’m about to tell you — although you probably don’t want to hear it, but you need to.

If you go out right now and tell someone who smokes that they smoke too much, I can almost guarantee that they would probably say ‘“I can stop whenever I want.” You can stop, but you feel as though you can’t live without one, so you’re choosing not to.

You see cigarettes have a chemical inside them called nicotine, which is addictive. This basically means when you use a cigarette, your body begins to need and crave nicotine. This may seem strange, but it’s a harmful side effect of smoking.

Smoking can also cause lung and larynx cancer. If you don’t know what larynx cancer is, it’s where they remove your voice box so you have a hole in your neck and you can’t talk without a machine.

Smoking also makes your lungs look like a burned piece of paper. This shrinks them, making it harder to breath, walk and exercise. When you smoke, your body is more open to long lasting infections that can reduce how long you live.

If I were you, I would throw away all of your cigarettes and get your body back into shape. I hope this helps you rethink your choices.

Fire gutted a vacant house shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, leaving fire crews working hard through noon to extinguish the flames and make sure they did not spread to nearby trees or the neighboring business.

This past week, I received a telephonic Robo Call from someone stating he represented the Glynn County Republican Party. There surely must be a parallel universe with a similar name since that call was nothing but false accusations and lies about ESPLOST 3.
