On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to U.S. Magistrate Court Judge R. Stanley Baker Jr., of St. Simons Island, on his nomination by President Donald Trump and recent confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia in Savannah.

Judge Baker will be well served by his 14 years of experience as a member of the State Bar of Georgia, including service as a federal magistrate judge in the Brunswick division of the Southern District and previously as a law clerk to his predecessor, Judge William T. Moore Jr., and in the private practice of law.

With his acceptance of this nomination and confirmation, Judge Baker demonstrates his ongoing commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.

Kenneth B. Hodges III

President, State Bar of Georgia
