Susan Black Stowers, 70, of St. Simons Island, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jimmy Stowers of St. Simons Island; a daughter, Debra Ferguson (Chris), of St. Simons Island; a son, Kyle Stowers (Rhonda), of Ringgold, Ga.; two grandchildren, Samantha and James Stowers, of Ringgold; a brother, Steve Black (Adrienne), of Denver, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Ann Doss, of Snellville, Ga.; an aunt, Dr. Peggy Pettit, of South Riding, Va.; and several cousins.

A private remembrance will be held in her honor at a later date.
