Robert W. “Bob” Williams, 86, of St. Simons Island, Ga., passed away quietly at his home on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1932, in Los Angeles, Calif., son of the late Henry M. Williams and the late Loretta Bolin Williams.

Bob was a distinguished Korean War veteran and a retired U.S. Customs Agent. He was also an avid golfer, and loved teeing up the ball at the Great Dunes Golf Course on Jekyll Island.

Bob’s roots spread far and wide, establishing friends in Seattle, Wash., San Francisco, Calif., Green Valley, Ariz., Washington, D.C., El Paso, Texas, and St. Simons Island, Ga.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Connie Chancey; his sons, Cory Williams (Brenda), Scott Williams (LeeAnne), Todd Williams (Bonnie) and Cameron Chancey (Teresa); seven grandchildren, Jaime, Andrea, Patrick, Steven, Jack, Isabelle and Lillian; and three great-grandchildren, Delaney, Kinley and Leena.

A celebration of life gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
