Ellen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, as well as a special sister, aunt and friend to many. She enjoyed being a mentor to many young women by teaching them skills such as sewing, cooking, home decorating, gardening and parenting. She was a long-time member of the YMCA, and looked forward to her exercise classes with her friends. She was a true southern belle in every sense of the word; gracious, generous, kind, and as a child of the Great Depression and World War II era, she learned to be extremely resourceful, creative and strongly independent. She cherished the many times she spent with family and friends.
Ellen was a charter member of Christian Renewal Church Brunswick where she served on the hospitality committee for many years and volunteered for 30 years for the Loaves and Fishes ministry providing food and clothes to those in need.
Ellen will always be loved and remembered by all who knew her.
