Cristy Johnson

Cristy Huff Johnson, 66, of Marietta, Ga., passed away Nov. 4, 2017, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

She was born Oct. 13, 1951, in Atlanta, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Warren Cristy and Mary Frances Huff.

Cristy was a service brat of the United States Air Force, which presented her the opportunity to live in Germany, Taiwan, Hawaii, Midway Island in the Pacific, California, Iowa and Georgia, and travel through the United States of America. She graduated from Glynn Academy, Class of 1969, where she was a distinguished student, earning awards and scholarships that led to Oxford at Emory in Covington, Ga., Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., finishing with a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in San Diego, Calif. Her employment included Raytheon and Price Waterhouse Cooper, and she retired from Ernst & Young as an accountant.

She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Suzanne Johnson Mckechnie, wife of Stuart Allen McKechnie, Hunter Duke Mckechnie, grandson, and Freya Ann Mckechnie, granddaughter, all of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Susan (Suzanne) Huff Gill, wife of Karl Richard Gill, and Cameron Ansley Gill, nephew, all of St. Simons Island.

As a celebration of Cristy’s life, a memorial service will be held at Christ Church, St. Simons Island, Ga., at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, and interment will follow at Christ Church.
