Volunteers wanted in Oak Grove Cemetery Saturday

Keep Golden Isles Beautiful is looking for volunteers to spread pine straw around the flower beds in historic Oak Grove Cemetery in Brunswick on Saturday.

Lea King-Badyna, KGIB executive director, said the groups regularly works with the Oak Grove Cemetery Society as part of its community greening efforts. Volunteers may also be asked to clear moss and small tree limbs.

The work will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The cemetery is at 1500 Mansfield St. in downtown Brunswick.

King-Badyna said volunteers don’t need to register, but doing so lets KGIB know how many pairs of work gloves and bottles of water it needs to provide. To call 912-279-1490 or email info.kbgib@gmail.com.
