McIntosh County Sheriff’s deputies were “knee deep” in an investigation Monday in hopes of making an arrest in a shooting in Eulonia early Saturday morning that left five people wounded, a sheriff’s office official said.

Several shots were fired around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Club Aja in Eulonia after a fight broke out at the establishment, said Dep. Danny Lowe.

“The next thing, there were five victims,” Lowe said.

After the fracas had calmed down, a security guard at the club and four other people had been hit, Lowe said.

As of Monday, no motive for the fight or the shooting were known, according to Lowe, and deputies were still investigating to discover who had actually fired a weapon.

One victim, Dmarius Aldrdge, 21, was airlifted to Memorial Medical University in Savannah, Lowe said.

Blake Riley, 24, was transported via ambulance to Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick and later flown to UF Shands in Jacksonville, Lowe said.

Another victim, Devion Jackson, 25, made it to the hospital in Brunswick, but Lowe was unsure if he was transported via ambulance or if he drove there himself.

Two other victims, Christopher Lotson, 27, and Marvin Jackson, 30, drove themselves to the Brunswick hospital and were treated and released, Lowe said.

As of Monday, all five victims were still alive, Lowe added.

No arrests had been made on Monday and the investigation remains open, Lowe said.
