Leadership Listens

Glynn County Schools hosts a “Leadership Listens” event in 2017.

Glynn County Schools administrators will bring back the “Leadership Listens” forum series this year, to provide community members with an opportunity to bring their concerns directly to school officials.

The first forum will take place Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sterling Elementary School, 200 McKenzie Drive in Brunswick.

“With the same drop-in, agenda-free format as last year, community members are encouraged to attend, meet key school and district administrators and engage in issues that involve their school communities,” according to a press release from the school system.

Glynn County Schools Superintendent Virgil Cole began the “Leadership Listens” series last school year in an effort to increase accessibility to school administrators.

“We had great participation last year, and community members were really receptive to the meetings,” Cole said. “Our goal is to continue to meet our community and family members where they are and to provide them with a platform where their questions, concerns and ideas can be heard.”

Four more forums are planned for the school year. The next meeting will be held on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. at Glynn Middle School.

A forum will be hosted at Altama Elementary School on Jan. 10, at Risley Middle School on March 14 and at Needwood Middle School on May 16.

Every meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
