Among reports filed with police:


1900 block of H Street: A man was causing a commotion with women relatives. Police arrived to restore order. Police discovered the man was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant and took him to jail.

200 block of Pelican Place: A man tried to make a run to the liquor store in a black and teal golf cart on St. Simons Island. Police intercepted the 26-year-old man, taking him to jail on a charge of DUI.

Chicken Coup Caper

100 block of Jessica Lane: A man called police to report that neighboring dogs made an overnight raid on his chicken coup. The dogs “ate 11 chickens,” the police report said. The canine suspects, described as a pit bull and a brindle-colored terrier mix, were still inside the chicken coup when police arrived the next morning.


Whitlock Street and U.S. Highway 341: A patrol officer noticed a Volvo semi-truck on the side of the road, its driver side door open and the engine running. The officer ran a check on the rig’s Texas license plate and learned it had been reported stolen.

Police Assist

11 Glynn Plaza: A man at the Walmart Neighborhood Market parked his car and locked the keys inside. With the engine running and his pet dogs inside. Police arrived an unlocked the vehicle.

Burglary, Maybe

4800 block of Malabar Drive: A man called police to report that someone had broken into his house. He told the officer that he could not tell if the burglar actually took anything. The man would not let the officer take a look-see “due to several drug related objects inside,” the report said.
