A man appeared to have been shot and wounded by stray gunfire in the predawn hours Saturday in the parking lot of a sports bar off U.S. Highway 341, west of Interstate 95, according to a Glynn County police report.

Police interviewed the man at Southeast Georgia Health System’s Brunswick hospital, where he was treated for the wound.

The shooting occurred in front of the GameTime Sports Bar, 100 Cary St., at around 1:30 a.m., the police report said. The man said he was looking down at his cell phone when several shots were fired, one that struck him, the report said. The man told police he was standing among a crowd of people at the time of the shooting.

The man told police he did not know who pulled the trigger, but he noted that two girls were fighting in the parking lot but “he did not know if the shooting had anything to do with it,” the report said.
