Police say a man who shot another man in the arm during a robbery earlier this month is the same person who allegedly took part in an armed home invasion late last month, according to Brunswick Police Capt. Angela Smith.
Deandra Lashawn Fairley, 25, was arrested Friday and remained Monday in the Glynn County Detention Center.
The Brunswick man is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during certain crimes, as well as aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and false imprisonment.
Police allege Fairley shot a 25-year-old man Feb. 5 during an attempted armed robbery on the street in the 1900 block of Cleburne Street, and also allegedly joined another man during an armed home invasion Jan. 30 at Glynnvilla Apartments.
Police said Fairley and Harrison Gibbons Jr. allegedly forced their way into an apartment at Glynnvilla, during which at least one of the men was armed with a gun. Police said the residents were held at gunpoint while Fairley and Gibbons allegedly searched the apartment, then fled.
Police identified and apprehended Gibbons shortly after the alleged home invasion, Smith said.
Gibbons, 19, remained Monday in the county jail, charged with home invasion, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during certain crimes and three counts of aggravated assault.
On Feb. 5, police say Fairley approached a vehicle parked in the 1900 block of Cleburne Street and pointed a gun at a man and a friend who were sitting inside.
Fairley allegedly demanded money, then shot the 25-year-old man as he attempted to drive away. Fairley then allegedly fled, police said.
Police arrested Fairley after investigations allegedly implicated him in both crimes, Smith said.
