A 19-year-old Glynn County woman is behind bars, charged with murder in connection with the shooting death Sunday morning of a man in the 3600 block of Habersham Street in the Arco community, according to Brian Scott, Chief of Staff for the Glynn County Police Department.

Glynn County Police arrested Sataria Jackson after the 10 a.m. shooting on Habersham Street, just north of 6th Street. Michael Diggs Jr. 23, died of his gunshot wounds at Southeast Georgia Health System. A person at the scene of the shooting drove him to the hospital, Scott said.

Police arrested Jackson at the scene of the shooting shortly after it was reported, according county emergency dispatch communications. The shooting occurred inside a room at the residence in at 3621 Habersham St., according to dispatch communications. That is same address listed for Jackson in jail records.

An on-call county police investigator was summoned.

“I want the suspect in the back of the (squad) car and nobody talks to her,” the investigator said on emergency radio communications while en route.
