Abysinia Baptist Church, 2501 Albany St., Brunswick, will celebrate Women’s Day at 11 a.m. May 6. The guest speaker will be Elizabeth Attical.

Acro Baptist Church, 3629 Treville Avenue, Brunswick, will host a special service at 11 a.m. Sunday featuring Sheriff Neal Jump. He will discuss safety and take questions from attendees.

Christ Church Frederica, 6329 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, will host Nancy and Matthew Sheeth, PhD, founders of Blessed Earth, for three lectures from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. May 5. Coastal Georgia’s National Day of Prayer will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 708 Mansfield Street, Brunswick. There will be a musical theme this year and the group is inviting members of the community to be a part of the choir. There will be required rehearsals for those wishing to participate. College Place United Methodist Church, 3890 Altama Ave, Brunswick, will hold six weeks of line dancing classes. Beginners classes start are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mondays and intermediate classes are from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays in the Christian Life Center. A new round of classes begin May 7. Fort Frederica Presbyterian Church, 6540 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, will host the Astralis Chamber Ensemble in concert. They will present Baroque and Beyond at 7 p.m. May 13. A reception will follow the performance.

Grace United Methodist Church will host an old fashion usher’s anniversary program at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church. The special guest will be the Canty Singers of Statesboro. Ushers through the community are invited to be a part of the program.

Hope Ministries INC, 3503 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Brunswick, will hold a celebration for the Rev. Winifred D. Herrington’s fifth anniversary at 7 p.m. nightly May 30, May 31 and June 1. It will continue at 10 a.m. June 3.

The 7th Annual Methodist Home Golf Classic will be held on Sunday at Osprey Cove in St. Marys. Players will be treated to food, refreshments and will receive gifts and prizes. All funds raised at the golf tournament will go to the St. Marys Campus House, a home for boys to reside when it is needed. Sponsorships and registration is being taken. Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1926 Stonewall Street, Brunswick, will celebrate its annual spring revival at 7 p.m. nightly May 16 to May 18. The Rev. J.D. Williams of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Brunswick will deliver the message.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1120 Newcastle Street, Brunswick, hosts its nondenominational crafters guild from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays in the St. Joseph Room in the church parish hall. No fees. Everyone is welcome. All types of crafts and ideas area shared. The guild provides hats for preemies and cancer patients, along with leg warmers and lap rugs for nursing homes.
