MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Greg Calhoun, a Montgomery businessman and founder of a chain of minority-owned supermarkets, has died.

Calhoun’s daughter, ShaKenya Calhoun, told local news outlets that her father died Thursday morning. He was 66.

Greg Calhoun was the founder of Calhoun Foods, a Montgomery-based chain of grocery stores. Calhoun founded the grocery chain in 1984. He began as a bagging clerk for another store before working his way through management.
