Southeast Georgia Health System recently presented The DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses to Janice Crews, R.N., and Nicole Shupe, R.N., BSN, honoring them for the care and compassion they provide to patients.

The DAISY Award is an international program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence nurses bring to their patients every day. Awards are presented based on nominations from patients, family, visitors or colleagues. Crews was nominated for The DAISY Award by the wife of a patient she cared for during his 38-day stay in the health system’s Progressive Care Unit on the Brunswick Campus. Shupe’s DAISY Award nomination was submitted by a Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center, Brunswick Campus, patient.

Crews and Shupe were presented their DAISY Awards by Judith Henson, R.N., BSN, MSA, vice president, Patient Care Services, in front of peers and health system leadership, including board members and physicians.
