Lea King-Badyna, executive director of Keep Golden Isles Beautiful (KGIB), recently spoke to the Kiwanis Club. This is the 40th anniversary of KGIB. One of its biggest goals is to make people aware of litter. The organization has a citizens’ patrol to report litterbugs, as well as local groups that participate in Adopt a Highway.

The group has been working to make people aware of and prevent litter including cigarette butts and plastic straws. Pictured are Rex Stalvey, Kiwanis Adopt a Highway chairman, from left; Shaw McVeigh, Kiwanis program chairman; Lea King-Badyna; and Will McKenzie, Kiwanis president.
