Brian Mooney, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, was recently promoted. He served as an air navigator in the Royal Canadian Air Force and qualified as a mission pilot with the local squadron.

Mooney was one of 10 volunteers from the Georgia wing deployed to Puerto Rico to fly disaster relief following Hurricane Maria. He was promoted to first lieutent and serves as squadron administrative officer. He is employed as the environmental manager at Rayonier Advanced Materials in Jesup.
