Each year, the local American Cancer Society hosts an October benefit luncheon and fashion show featuring local models who are breast cancer survivors. To honor those models, a special “Meet and Greet” held Aug. 16 welcomed 13 models, the presenting sponsors, the host committee and participating boutiques. Jan and Marty Carriker hosted the event at their Sea Palms home.

Presenting partners for this year are Dr. Vincent K. Arlauskas, Dr. Stephen G. Barret and Dr. Bradley Easterlin. Additional sponsors include: Dr. and Mrs. A.W. Strickland, Emelia and Mark Stambaugh; anonymous; Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hodnett Copper Real Estate; Ameris Bank, Driggers Homes, Inc.; Southeast Georgia Health System; Atlantic National Bank; Coastal Bank of Georgia; Coastal Community Health Services; Prime South Bank; Synovus Bank; and Maggie Dutton State Farm Insurance.

Representatives from Cloister Collection, Evelyne Talman, Gentlemen’s and Lady Outfitters, Maggie’s Boutique, Planters Exchange and Shackelford Shoe Boutique met with the models to discuss fashion options for this year’s show. The models will showcase the latest fall fashions at this popular event, held this year on Oct. 20, at Sea Palms Resort.

Tickets are $40 and may be purchased at Lady and Gentlemen’s Outfitters (Shops at Sea Island) and Antiques, Etc. (downtown Brunswick) beginning Sept. 12. For more information, contact Ebonie Cohens, Glynn Community manager of the American Cancer Society, at 912-217-7280. ebonie.cohens@cancer.org
