The Friends of Historic Jekyll Island will host a presentation titled, “William Horton and Colonial Agriculture on Jekyll Island,” at 6:30 p.m. in the Jekyll Island Presbyterian Church parlor on Jekyll Island. The presenter will be James McKenna. Refreshments will follow the program. It is free and open to the public.

Artist Catherine Hillis will hold an open house of displaying her work from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Welcome Center, 529 Beachview Dr., St. Simons Island. It will be on display at the center through May 30.

The Coastal Photographer’s Guild will host its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at Glynn Visual Arts, 106 Island Dr., St. Simons Island. Lucy Albenze, owner of Creative Frameworks in Brunswick, will give a presentation on how to showcase photos in the best light.

The Lower Altamaha Historical Society’s Archives Library located at Fort King George Historical Site will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for researchers, genealogists and interested persons. There is no charge for the use of the archives. The Lower Altamaha Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fort King George Historical Site’s Visitors’ Center. Satilla Marsh Elementary will host the Battle of the Marsh at 6 p.m. at the school. There will be a lip sync battle to support the school’s new playground. There is a $1 admission at the door. For more information, email satillamarshpta@gmail.com.

Storybook Express Train Rides will be held at 10 am, noon and 2 p.m. May 19 and 26. Participants will ride the rails to Storyland where storybook characters bring an adventure to life.
