INVITATION FOR BIDS GLYNN COUNTY AIRPORT COMMISSION ST. SIMONS ISLAND AIRPORT RELOCATE RUNWAY 4 THRESHOLD, CRACK SEAL AND SEAL COAT RUNWAY 4-22 Sealed bids will be received by the Glynn County Airport Commission, until 11:00 A.M. local time, Friday, 22 November 2019, at which time they shall be opened in the 2nd Floor Conference Room, Glynn County Airport Commission, Brunswick Golden Isles Airport, 295 Aviation Parkway, Suite 205, Brunswick, Georgia 31525-6804, for: ST. SIMONS ISLAND AIRPORT RELOCATE RUNWAY 4 THRESHOLD, CRACK SEAL AND SEAL COAT RUNWAY 4-22 SCOPE OF WORK: The Work includes crack sealing, P-608 seal coating, and marking of Runway 4-22; and relocation of the Runway 4 threshold. Relocation of the Runway 4 threshold includes removal of existing runway markings, provision of new markings, provision of new REILs, provision of new threshold and runway lighting, and removal of existing lighting and cables, and associated work. The Work includes specific phased construction operations to facilitate safe construction activities and minimize impacts to aircraft operations during execution of the Work. Certain elements of the Work may only be performed during specified limited daytime or overnight runway closures. Bidders shall review the contract documents for work period limitations. A PRE-BID CONFERENCE for this project will be held on 07 November 2019 at 9:00 A.M. (local time) at the St. Simons Island Airport Maintenance Shop, 160 Gary L. Moore Court, St. Simons Island, Georgia. This conference will include information that is essential for all bidders to understand. Therefore, ALL BIDDERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND the pre-bid conference. The Pre-Bid Conference will also provide the only opportunity for bidders to examine the site. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid will be required to accompany bids. Contract Bonding shall also be required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in bidding. Participation in the Owner's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program is required. The goal for this contract is ten-point-seven percent (10.7%) to be performed by firms certified as DBE by the Georgia Department of Transportation. This project will be bid as a single contract. Bid prices must be held for up to 90 days. All documents will be available by electronic file transfer only, in Adobe Acrobat file format. Hard copies will not be distributed.
