Police say a 22-year-old Brantley County man found shot to death Saturday morning inside a vehicle in remote northern Glynn County was murdered, according to Glynn County Police Chief of Staff Brian Scott.

Hunters called police at around 7:15 a.m. after discovering the body inside a green Dodge Stratus parked in the roadway at the northern end of Golden Isles Parkway, north of Greenswamp Road. Police have identified the murdered man as Corey Proctor and determined he was shot dead. Police believe Proctor died sometime between late Friday night and early Saturday morning. An autopsy is being conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Savannah.

Anyone with information about the case, or who may have seen Proctor or the green Stratus overnight Friday, is asked to contact police. Call county police investigator Molly Cruikshank at 912-554-7802, or Silent Witness hotline at 912-264-1333.
