Tara Leanne Rehberg and Matthew Dale Kirkland were united in marriage on June 2, 2018, at St. Simons United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Marcia Cochran officiated the double-ring ceremony. Nuptial music was provided by DJ Ronnie and Mary Smith.
The bride is the daughter of Randall and Pam Rehberg of Brunswick. The groom is the son of Dale and Susan Kirkland of Hazlehurst.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory, James Clifford full length gown featuring a mermaid silhouette. The gown had a dramatic open keyhole back as well as a sweetheart neckline. It was hand beaded and embroidered with lace appliqué and tulle over satin.
She wore a single layer cathedral length scalloped veil with hand sewn floral embroidery embellished with sequins, seed beads and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of white roses. The stems were wrapped with a lace handkerchief belonging to her great grandmother and a ring and the groom’s grandmother’s pendant.
Jodi Kirkland of Jesup was the matron of honor. Brooke Creech of Hazlehurst was the maid of honor. The attendants were Sarah Bessent, Erica Troutt and Jess Smith, all of Brunswick; and Jennifer Lahaye of Waycross.
Michael Kirkland of Jesup, the groom’s brother, and Dale Kirkland of Hazlehurst, the groom’s father, both served as best men. The groomsmen were Allen Crawford and Kacey Hurley, both of Hazlehurst; and David Benjamin and Josh Anderson, both of Brunswick.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort at St. Simons Island. Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Brunswick, where Mrs. Kirkland is employed by the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation and Mr. Kirkland is employed at Integrated Security and Communications.
