Pumpkin patch

St. Simons United Methodist Church assistant youth director Patrick Jeter, above, catches a pumpkin as he and a host of volunteers, including 10-year-old Holly Baldwin, at left, form a line to unload 5,000 pumpkins from a semi-truck Tuesday at the lot next to the church on Ocean Boulevard. The pumpkins, which came from New Mexico, are for the church’s annual pumpkin patch, a fundraiser for the church youth program for over 30 years. Patch hours are Monday through Friday from 1-7 p.m., Saturday 9a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
