CoastFest prep

Georgia Department of Natural Resources Marine Education and Public Outreach head Paul Medders places a freshly caught red drum into the 5,000 gallon Hawg Trough aquarium Thursday in the DNR back parking lot. The red drum, Georgia’s state marine sport fish, joined other native fish species in the giant tank which will be one of the many attractions at this year’s CoastFest. The 23rd annual event is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DNR headquarters at 1 Conservation Way. Parking for the free event will be available in the vacant Liberty Harbor lot.
