College of Coastal Georgia’s men’s golf team finished in fifth place Tuesday after carding a 309 in the third and final round of the USCB Innisbrook Invitational in Palm Harbor, Fla.

The Mariners’ 909 for the tournament was 18 shots behind winner Oklahoma City.

Mark David Johnson had the lowest score for a Coastal player, finishing tied for 11th at 12 over for the tournament.

Johnson followed up rounds of 72 and 71 with an 82 on Tuesday.

Eamon Owen turned in the best Mariner performance in the final round with a 70. That vaulted Owen up to a tie for 22nd after carding a 87 in the first round.

Kyle Kidd (79) and Chip Thompson (78) rounded out Coastal’s scorecard in the final round.

The Mariner men are off until the Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational on Oct. 23 in Doral, Fla.

The Mariner women, also competing at Innisbrook, finished eight in their tournament.

Kylee Wheeler had Coastal’s top result in the final round with a 78 and in the tournament, tying for 17th with a 243.

Molly Antor and Megan Ramer both tied for 34th after rounds of 88 on Tuesday. Megan Collins provided Coastal’s fourth score with a 92.

SCAD Savannah won the tournament by 36 shots over host USC Beaufort.

The Mariner women are back in action Monday at the Thomas Invitational in Valdosta.
