After the third round of the RSM Classic ends Saturday, those in the gallery who are mixed martial arts and kickboxing fans won’t have far to find the only competition in the region.

The third annual Battle at the Beach, held at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, features 10 matches with some of the top professional and amateur fighters. Each match will be officiated by sanctioned referees, with a skilled medical staff at ringside to help if needed.

The main event features a 125-pound weight class clash between Brandon Ryals, of Brunswick Boxing and Seth Dupuis, of Jacksonville, Fla.

The co-main event is a 185-pound weight class bout between Ben Doomes, of Brunswick Boxing and Ramon Butts of Jacksonville.

Other fights include Dominic Stouder, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Csaba Hocz, of Hungary in the 205-pound weight class.

Jozsef Szasz, trainer for Brunswick Boxing and an event organizer, said the professionals fight three rounds, each lasting five minutes. The amateurs fight three rounds, each lasting three minutes.

He said he has high expectations for the five fighters from Brunswick Boxing who are participating in the matches.

And those fighters have extra motivation to perform well.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the family of Levi Adams, a former Glynn County Police Department officer who was killed in a car accident in July. Adams, who was also affiliated with the boxing club, will be honored in a brief ceremony between the matches.

“We miss him every day,” Szasz said.

The venue will have two big screens to ensure everyone in the auditorium, which seats more than 4,000, will have a great view of the action, said Chris Otter, an event promoter and organizer.

Otter added a lot of work has gone into making sure the event meets expectations.

“We put on a heck of a show,” he said. “We have some great fighters here.”
