Glynn County Police arrested a 23-year-old Glynn County man early Saturday morning and charged him with fatally shooting his father, according to Investigator Shaun Johnson.
Charles Workman Jr. is in the Glynn County Detention Center, charged with murder, according to Johnson’s press release posted on the Glynn County Police Department Facebook page.
Police said Workman Jr. allegedly confessed to shooting 65-year-old Charles Workman Sr. in the abdomen at home at 108 Stafford Ave., located off Altama Avenue, the release said. Police arrived at 5:50 a.m. and found Charles Workman Sr. on the home’s living room floor with a wound to the abdomen, the release said.
Workman Sr. was transported by ambulance to Southeast Georgia Health System’s Brunswick hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the release said.
Police were called to scene by a complaint from a neighbor that four men were loitering in his front yard. Workman Jr. was among the four men. He allegedly told police he had shot his father.
