The Mainland Planning Commission at its meeting Tuesday will consider multiple additions to Canal Crossing Shopping Center, including Moe’s Southwestern Grille, Five Below, Hooters and Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Three of the nine site plans on the meeting agenda are proposals for new buildings on out lots at the shopping center, with one proposing an extension of the primary building on Academy Sports’ end to accommodate Five Below.

Five Below sells clothes, toys, cosmetics and accessories, among other things, and caters mostly to pre-teens and teenagers, according to the company’s website.

The Moe’s Southwest Grille would be located between Panda Express and Panera Bread. Founded in Atlanta, Moe’s serves Mexican and southwestern U.S. fare, according to the chain’s website. Another multi-tenant building is proposed further down Canal Road, according to the site plan.

If approved, the multi-tenant structure would be built across Canal Road from Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. According to the site plan, the tenants for the building would be T-Mobile, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Signage and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

MPC members are also scheduled to rule on a site plan for a Hooters restaurant between Panda Express and the proposed four-tenant building.

A grocery store, Satilla Grocery, is also on the agenda. It is proposed for 6892 New Jesup Highway in Sterling.

The MPC will also discuss a site plan for a new set of storage unit warehouses for Victory Storage, improvements to the Boys & Girls Club’s Brunswick building on Johnson Street, remodeling the Arby’s on the Altama Connector and a new Ole Times Country Buffet building at the corner of the Ga. Spur 25 and Scranton Connector.

The commission will make recommendations to the Glynn County Commission on two zoning amendment requests, one of which requests the planned development text covering one part of a property at the corner of Canal Road and Gateway Center Boulevard be changed to the same planned development text covering the rest of the property.

The other is to rezone part of the property at the southwest corner of U.S. Highway 341 and Ga. Highway 303 from a residential zone to commercial.

MPC members will also make recommendations on two conditional use permits, one to allow for the expansion of Coastal Georgia RV Resort, and the other to allow Victory Storage to construct its storage units on Shell Drive.

The Mainland Planning Commission meets tonight at 6 p.m. in the Old Glynn County Courthouse, 701 G St. in Brunswick.
