The Georgia Department of Insurance will host a Catastrophe Claims Village from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Brunswick.

The purpose of the event is to assist area residents with insurance questions and claims resulting from Hurricane Irma.

The event will be held in the Home Depot parking lot at 200 Altama Connector. Officials from the insurance commissioner’s office and representatives from many of the major insurance companies are scheduled to attend the event.

Residents who cannot attend the event can call the Insurance Department’s Consumer Services Hotline at 800-656-2298, for help filing a claim, or if they are experiencing difficulty reaching their insurance company. Phone lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays.
