A Glynn County grand jury indicted Rufus C. Johnson on Wednesday, accusing him of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and child molestation.

Between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 2015, he allegedly illegally touched a girl younger than 16 in several different methods. The indictment doesn’t mention the location the alleged crimes took place nor Johnson’s relation to the child.

Also indicted was Jessica Charlene Norris, accused of arson in the first degree. She allegedly set fire to a man’s residence in the 100 block of Yorktown Drive on Oct. 16.

Meanwhile, Margaret Theresa Obrien was indicted for criminal attempt to commit a felony. She allegedly entered the Circle K convenience store in the 4000 block of Community Road, on May 22, with intentions to rob the store. According to the indictment, she “demanded money from store employees while holding her hand in her purse as to act as having a firearm….”

In addition, Robert Earl Tyree, who was convicted of sexual battery on Feb. 14, 1989 in Lowndes County, Miss., is accused of failing to notify the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office of his permanent address as required by law as a sex offender, within 72 hours of moving to the new address. He previously gave an address at the Palms Motel on Glynn Avenue, but was allegedly no longer residing there when sought.
