Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission work crews have closed G Street at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard after a part of the road collapsed Tuesday.

One lane on each side of MLK is open, but G Street is closed at the intersection.

A leaking sewer line dislodged enough dirt to cause the road to fall in slightly Tuesday night, said Greg Sellers, construction supervisor. Workers began digging this morning at 8:30 a.m.

As of 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, they were nearly at the leaking eight inch sewer pipe and were waiting on supplies and personnel to fix it.
