Four middle school students will be awarded $10,000 scholarships tomorrow at Glynn County Schools’ inaugural REACH Georgia Scholars Signing Day Ceremony.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. in the Brunswick High School auditorium.
“We are very proud of the four young ladies who have been chosen to receive these scholarships, and we look forward to providing this scholarship to other students each year following,” said Virgil Cole, Glynn County Schools superintendent, in a press release.
The REACH, or Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen, program is a needs-based mentorship and scholarship program designed to encourage students, starting in middle school, to persist in their educational pursuits.
The REACH Georgia program provides academically-promising students with the needed support to reach high school and college graduation.
The program has a total of 103 school systems, including Glynn County, participating in the program and almost 1,200 scholars for the 2017-2018 school year.
