Nina Titone, historian, will speak about the family of John Wilkes Booth, based on her book, “My Thoughts be Bloody: The Rivalry of Edwin and John Wilkes Booth,” at 6 p.m. at the A.W. Jones Heritage Center, 610 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island, as part of the Chautauqua Lecture Series presented by the Coastal Georgia Historical Society. This series will focus on ties between Coastal Georgia and some of America’s notorious personalities and events. The cost for the series is $50 for members and $95 for non-members. Friday, Aug. 11

North End tour of Sapelo Island, presented by Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The tour will feature the Native American shell ring and Chocolate Plantation. Tickets are $15 for adults, ages 13 and up and $10 for children ages 6-12, and can be purchased at the Sapelo Island Visitors Center. Saturday, Aug. 12

“Tarzan” will be shown at 10 a.m. at at the Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum, 100 Arthur J. Moore Drive, Epworth by the Sea, St. Simons Island, as part of its “Matinee at the Museum Kids” series. Free.

“Sights and Sounds of the Sawmill” will be presented at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Fort King George State Historic Site, 302 McIntosh Road, Darien. The event will feature a presentation by interpretive ranger Jason Baker about the historic sawmills of Darien. The program lasts 60 to 90 minutes, primarily outdoors.
