A local house of worship will present its annual spring concert this weekend.

First Baptist Church Brunswick, 708 Mansfield St. in Brunswick, will perform its concert, titled “Until My Voice is Gone,” at 6 p.m. Sunday. The event is free and open to the public.

“The spring concert at First Baptist Church Brunswick is a decades-long tradition,” said Mark Clay, the church’s minister of music and worship. “The concert is a worship event that features all the music groups at the church, and they all come together.”

Nearly 100 vocalists and musicians will perform a range of music from the gospel to contemporary genres, Clay said. Since January, the church members have been rehearsing for the concert.

“It features our First Praise choir, which has about 85 members,” Clay said. “This group leads our church and community in worship. Also, the second group featured will be the First Sounds Orchestra. This is a 25-member group that plays each Sunday, as well as special events throughout the year.”

The full orchestra includes brass, strings, percussion and contemporary instruments like guitar, Clay said. In addition to the musical performances, the Rev. Chris Winford, pastor of First Baptist Church Brunswick, will deliver a brief message and sing alongside the church’s His Men Ensemble. Attendees will also be invited to sing along with select numbers.

“We will also offer a contemporary arrangement of the hymn ‘It Is Well With My Soul,’ in which the congregation can sing along,” Clay explained.

The entire community is invited to “come out for a wonderful evening of music and worship,” Clay said.
