At its June meeting, the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation voted to award grants, totaling $85,525 to 18 community-based organizations serving Glynn, Camden and McIntosh counties. This was the largest number and amount in the annual competitive program in the foundation’s history. The 2017 competitive grant cycle focused on programs serving at-risk youth and their families.

A grant of $5,000 will provide scholarships for the summer outreach program for Children in Action (CIA) Sports Club in Brunswick. CIA uses sports and activities as vehicles to help at-risk children and youth build confidence, develop character, strive for excellence and engage in teamwork while incorporating Christian values.
