Camp Corral, a nonprofit organization, provides free, one-of-a-kind summer camp experiences for children of wounded, injured, ill or fallen service members. Since its founding in 2011 by Golden Corral, Camp Corral has grown to 22 camps in 19 states and has served 17,000 children. Golden Corral holds a fundraising campaign for the Camp Corral every year. Although any child ages 8-15 from a military family is eligible, registration priority is given to children of wounded, injured, ill or fallen military service members. Camp Corral partners with camps accredited by the American Camp Association across the nation to provide activities that are fun, new and challenging under the watchful eye of highly trained staff. Additionally, a military and family life counselor is available at each camp.
Dave Murray, a local resident and owner of the Brunswick Golden Corral said “Golden Corral and their guests all share a deep commitment to supporting the military community, and we demonstrate that by actively making Camp Corral a success each year. This year we have been busy in Brunswick. So far we have raised $5,400 and will accept donations until July 9. We are grateful to the local chapter of the DAV, which, has been very generous with their time, helping to collect donations as well as making a substantial donation of $600. We look forward to continuing to support this important cause and providing more military children an unforgettable week at camp.”
