“Smokey Joe’s Cafe” will be performed by The Island Players at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays Oct. 5-21 and at 3 p.m. Sundays Oct. 8-22, at the St. Simons Casino Theatre, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island. Friday, Oct. 6

Glynn Environmental Coalition will meet at 11:15 a.m. at the Olive Garden Restaurant, 600 Glynn Isles, Brunswick. There will be an open period for members to speak on issues.

First Friday, a downtown block party, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. along the streets of Newcastle Street in Brunswick. Various stores will stay open later and hold specials. During the event, Vivian La Vivi Mitchell will hold an art opening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ritz Theatre downtown.

Saturday, Oct. 7

CoastFest, sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to at the DNR headquarters, 1 Conservation Way, near the Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick. For more information, visit coastalgadnr.org/CoastFest.

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Coastal Georgia will host a 25 year Celebration Banquet and Fundraiser at 6:45 p.m. at Jekyll Island Convention Center, 75 N. Beachview Dr., Jekyll Island. To reserve a seat, call 264-0231.

The St. Simons Island Art Gallery Crawl will be held from 4-7 p.m. at five galleries along the Frederica Road, all within walking distance of each other allowing guests to “crawl” from gallery to gallery. The Food Truck Oktoberfest will be held from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mary Ross Waterfront Park in downtown Brunswick. Several food trucks and vendors will be on hand, following the event an after party with live music will be held in Jekyll Sqaure on Newcastle Street in Brunswick.
