Saturday, Nov. 11

The Young Eagles Flights, sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport. It is open for children ages 7 to 17. A parent or guardian must be on hand to sign permission forms. No registration is required.

Hospice of the Golden Isles will host a Veteran’s Appreciation Lunch from 12 to 2 p.m. at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Hodnett Cooper Real Estate, 520 Ocean Blvd., St. Simons Island. Veterans and active duty military will eat for free. For all others, the cost is $5.

The 48th American Cancer Society’s Victory Gala will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Greenhouse, 10 Market St, St. Simons Island. The theme of the evening is Gatsby in the Garden. The dress is either 1920s era clothing or black tie. Tickets are $150 each and are available online at 2www.acsvictoryboard.org.

Fort King George will host its Autumn Re-enactment — The Debatable Land from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the fort, 302 McIntosh Road, Darien. The cost is $4.50 to $7.50 for admission. There will be demonstrations of colonial life and skills such as blacksmithing, musket and cannon firing and music. At 3 p.m., a battle reenactment will take place. The Coastal Georgia Genealogical Society and the St. Simons Island Public Library will host Down to Earth with Land Records with genealogist Ann Staley. It will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at the St. Simons Island Casino, Room 108, on St. Simons Island. It is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Nov. 14

The Newcomer’s Club will host its November Dinner at 6 p.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church’s fellowship hall on St. Simons Island. Tickets are $20 per person. The deadline for registration is Nov. 10. A number of community organizations will be highlighted during the event.

Wednesday, Nov. 15

The Brunswick Glynn County Mayor’s Committee on Services for the Disabled will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 15, 10 AM, on the 2nd floor of the Historic City Hall on 1229 Newcastle St., Brunswick, GA. Meetings are open to the public and address issues of interest to persons with disabilities, their families, and disability related service and support providers.

Monday, Nov. 20

The Coastal Symphony of Georgia will present a concert titled “Women, Women, Women!,” a celebration of the female spirit. Among others, featured selections include “Sleeping Beauty Ballet Suite,” “La Cenerentola,” (Cinderella) and Verdi’s “La Traviata.” The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Brunswick High School auditorium.
