Glynn County officials have released a notice that the county is under a storm surge and flash flood watch.

They warn Hurricane Irma may bring winds of 55-65 mph as soon as midnight Sunday.

Georgia DOT will be closing the Sidney Lanier Bridge at noon Sunday.

No other roads are closed at this time but conditions may make driving hazardous.

Eight to 15 inches of rainfall and up to four feet of storm surge are expected.

The Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission will terminate water and sewer service on St. Simons Island Sunday at 2 p.m.

Service will be restored as soon as the storm passes and permanent power is reestablished.

Service on the mainland will not be turned off.
