Glynn County residents will not be allowed back into the county starting at 7 p.m. Monday, and the blockade will continue until local authorities have determined that it’s safe for them to return.

According to Glynn County Commission Chairman Bill Brunson, the county's borders will be closed at 7 p.m., and officers from multiple agencies will be manning checkpoints, including members of the U.S. National Guard.

At present, the Torras Causeway is also still closed due to high wind speeds.

A re-entry plan for county residents that evacuated has yet to be announced, Brunson saying they wanted to deal with what the most pressing issues they have one their plate and make sure the county is safe for those already in it.
