Mr. and Mrs. Gene Elton Stimson Jr., of Memphis, Tenn., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ann Dover Stimson, to Harrison Delaney Benefield, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Dewey Benefield III of St. Simons Island.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gene Elton Stimson of Memphis, and the late Mr. Gene Elton Stimson, formerly of Memphis, and Mr. and Mrs. John Clancy King of Helena, Ark.
Miss Stimson graduated with honors in 2011 from The Hutchison School in Memphis. She attended the University of Georgia, and was a 2015 cum laude graduate from the Grady School of Journalism, with a major in public relations and a minor in consumer economics. She is a member of Chi Omega. Miss Stimson is employed at IMI Agency in Atlanta as an account support specialist.
The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Dewey Benefield Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Thomas Vamvaks, all of St. Simons Island.
Mr. Benefield graduated from Frederica Academy in 2010. He attended the University of Georgia and in 2014 graduated from the Terry College of Business with a major in management and a minor in consumer economics. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Mr. Benefield is employed as a sales manager at FLS Transportation Services.
A 5:30 p.m. wedding is planned for Sept. 3 at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston, S.C., with a reception to follow in the same location.
